Description:
Focus:
This workshop will involve the exploration of the equine body and equine body movement with Stefanie Reinhold. Horses are movement miracles and perfectly engineered by nature to function in their natural habitats and to become perfect athletes for the horse and human interaction in work, sport and leisure activities. Why then do our horses have as many problems, such as unexplained lameness, back discomfort, performance issues? In this workshop you will take a closer look at how the horse functions and what you can do to help your horse feel and perform at his best.
What You Will Learn:
In this one day seminar you will engage in topic discussions, presentations and lots of hands on exploration with horses in order to gain basic insights into:
How is the horse put together? This will be a hands on exploration.
How to recognize whether a horse is in discomfort? Learn to palpate and recognize subtle signs.
How to keep the back of a horse healthy. Explore the connection to seemingly unrelated issues.
Basic bodywork exercises anyone can do with their horse to alleviate or prevent discomfort. Learn some simple bodywork techniques.
How to incorporate what is learned into saddle and bit choices. Some conventional wisdom will be questioned.
The day is spent with both discussion and presentation time and hands on exploration and practice with horses. Every participants receives a Basic Horse Mechanics manual to take home. Wear comfortable clothing and suitable shoes for hands on work with horses. You will receive a lot of information, as much hands on time with horses as possible and have the opportunity to discuss your questions in a group setting.
Following the workshop Stefanie will be available for equine bodywork sessions on Sunday, Sept. 30 with your horse. Call for details.
