Description:
Epala is pleased to announce a 2012 Equine Facilitated Coaching and Counseling Training Course. This course is for anyone interested in becoming a facilitator of equine facilitated programs as a coach or as a counselor.
The coaching track will be provided for individuals interested in pursuing equine facilitated programs that promote personal development, leadership training, team building or any work where equines join humans to enhance understanding of self, interpersonal dynamics, and the role of emotion, energy and intention. Upon completion of the course you will be prepared to join others who are facilitating in the field of equine facilitated coaching and learning or even start your own program.
The counseling track will be provided for those who are already licensed mental health practitioners or those who are in a graduate level program pursuing a professional counseling degree. The curriculum for this track will focus on integrating equine facilitated psychotherapy alongside traditional counseling and psychotherapy. Upon completion of the course individuals will be prepared to bring equine facilitated counseling and psychotherapy into their practice or to offer it in the context of working with social service agencies.
The course will take place starting in June 2012 and will have a flexible end date for each participant based on their individual learning plan and needs.
On site training will take place at Epala four times over five months. Each training will be four days in length. In addition six teleclasses will be required as well as six one-on-one phone coaching sessions with one of the instructors.
This equine facilitated training course is unique because it has the added bonus of Juli Lynch, Ph.D doing a two day on site visit to your location in order to work privately with you and your horses to prepare them for equine facilitated work. If you do not have horses at this time or do not have a location you will arrange a two day private session with Juli at the Epala location in Wisconsin.
In addition upon registration you will be sent all the required books for the course so that you do not have to go and purchase them yourself.
Four focus areas: Personal Development and Facilitator Development, Horse Knowledge and Management, Coaching or Counseling Learning Track, and Business Development will be the emphasis at each training as well as in the teleclasses and independent study.
The curriculum will follow the guidelines set out by the Certification Board of Equine Interaction Professionals (www.cbeip.org). Our intention is that you will be prepared after completing this course to take the CBEIP's certifiction test. This test is on the way to being considered the gold standard for recognition of competency in the field of both equine facilitated coaching and counseling.
This course has been designed with your life in mind, understanding that you are probably working, have a family and cannot quit your day job to pursue this work until you have the training to do this work. We will support you so that you have success without feeling overwhelmed. We will support you so that you too can pursue with passion the opportunity to bring your vision alive.
