FOCUS: This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn how to create true partnerships with horses versus using a predator/dominance or pressure approach. What we mean by that is we will teach you how to go beyond the behaviors of boundary setting, pressure and release, and taking the lead role to a level of higher conscious interaction through intuitive observing, intuitive listening, interspecies communication and creating a trust relationship. We will experience the willingness of horses to follow us anywhere and take us with them for a walk or a ride fully wanting to be our partner. If you believe our horses are here to teach us then we will teach you how to listen to their wisdom and honor their role in your life. This is a great workshop for those who have backyard horses, those going into equine studies, veterinarians who have to work with ill or injured horses, riding instructors who want to teach their riders to connect with their horses as partners and show riders who understand that partnership is the winning edge with horses.

TIME SPENT: Time will be spent in intense study of horses both as individuals and as herd members. Through safe engaging activities you will learn how to become a respected and confident partner to a horse. You will learn how to observe and listen to each individual horse message. You will advance through active and reflective time with a horse that chooses you in order to work at liberty in a large arena setting as one harmonious partnership. If you choose you will have an opportunity to ride and see how it feels to have total connection physically and emotionally with your horse. If you have your own horse we can consider you bringing him or her to the workshop. If you do not have a horse our herd will be grateful teachers.

OUTCOMES: Increased awareness of the ongoing communication horses offer as individuals and as a herd. Increased ability to observe the subtleties of horse behavior and the messages they convey. Increased awareness and understanding that responses to horses vary as widely as horses do. Increased comfort stepping out of the box of the traditional dominance and pressure paradigms for dealing with horses. Increased ability to let go and create spontaneous, fluid connection and movement with any horse.

Fee: $225.oo
